Recycled Glass and Common Uses
There are a number of different types of glass that can be recycled and methods of glass recycling to turn this waste product into another useful object.
Glass comes in a variety of grades, including plate glass, bottled glass, and glass of mixed colours, which can also be separated by colour. Recycled glass has a variety of uses which make it a profitable commodity when it comes to waste management.
Amongst the common uses for recycled glass, are the creation of new drinks bottles and receptacles, the making of surfaces for new roads and water filtration granules which offer superior performance over the likes of sand.
- The latter is an ideal use for glass cullet which is rejected by bottle and plate glass manufacturers, making use of a waste product that has a somewhat limited market.
